Due to the activity of muscles beneath the skin, the skin is pulled into a certain shape. Botox, a temporary muscle relaxant, relaxes the muscles, causing the skin to contract less frequently or not at all. This can help prevent future wrinkles or reduce existing ones. One effect of this is that the skin is pulled in a different way, adjusting your facial expression. By injecting Botox above and below the eyebrows, they are pulled down less. This results in the eyebrow lift, giving you a fresh and youthful appearance.
The Treatment for Eyebrow Lift
Your treatment starts with a consultation where you discuss your wishes with the doctor. The doctor will then provide honest advice and explain the expectations for the result. If you decide to continue the treatment, the muscles are first marked. You will be asked to make various facial expressions so the doctor can see where the muscles are located beneath the skin. Then, the doctor injects Botox into the muscle using a thin needle. This procedure is repeated in multiple places just below the eyebrows. This relaxes the muscles that naturally pull the eyebrow down. This results in what we refer to as the eyebrow lift. The effect of the Botox becomes gradually visible over 2 weeks and is optimal after 2 weeks. What to do after the treatment?
To achieve the optimal result, we recommend following these guidelines:
• Avoid lying flat or bending over for at least the first 2 hours.
• Avoid smoking, exercising, or drinking alcohol for 24 hours.
• Stay out of the sun or tanning bed for 2 weeks.
• Avoid saunas, spas, or hamams for 2 weeks.
• Avoid facial treatments, laser treatments, or peels for 2 weeks.
